Student Positions in the Library:
Main Desk Student Assistant
Serve as the first point of contact for library users at McIntyre Library
Level of contact with people: High
Main responsibilities:
- Share and answer questions about library services
- Assist library users with technology like printers and scanners
- Check out library materials like books, study rooms, and laptops

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Blugold Makerspace Student Assistant
Help library users in the Blugold Makerspace
Level of contact with people: Medium
Main responsibilities:
- Train users in the use of makerspace equipment
- Provide project assistance or refer users to available experts
- Store and retrieve tools and materials
- Ensure safety and policy adherence
Strengths that match this position:

- Desire to learn or current making skills like knitting, 3D printing, drawing or graphic design, robotics, and more

Cataloging Student Assistant
Prepare new books for checkout and remove items from the library collection.

Main responsibilities:
- Data entry into the computer and filing papers
- Moving around heavy boxes and carts of books
- Writing and typing call numbers, stamping, sticking labels and barcodes, applying book covers

Digital Studio Student Assistant
Help library users in the Digital Studio at McIntyre Library

Main responsibilities:
- Assist users with Digital Studio equipment and software
- Provide project assistance or refer users to available experts
- Perform regular inventory checks on Digital Studio equipment
- Create instructions and learning materials to aid users

- Interest or knowledge in any area of audio, video, photography, virtual reality software and/or equipment

Assist in the maintenance of the library collection by shelving, shifting, and straightening library materials

- Organize library material for reshelving
- Locate lost or mis-shelved items
- Gain a working knowledge of the Library of Congress and Dewey Decimal systems
