We Will Always Be Here: Wisconsin's LGBTQ+ Historymakers on display at McIntyre Library

| Kate Hinnant

This winter, UW-Eau Claire welcomes “We Will Always Be Here,” a traveling exhibit from the Wisconsin Historical Society that explores stories of Wisconsin’s LGBTQ+ advocates and community builders. Starting Monday, February 27, the exhibit will be on view on the first floor of McIntyre Library.

Graphic novel fans will appreciate the bright and engaging exhibit featuring the stories of eight Wisconsin change agents who advocated for expanded civil liberties for people of all identities. Designed by Indigequeer Anishinaabe and Michif artist nipinet landsem, the exhibit features 10 panels that introduce the personal journeys of eight individuals across a wide spectrum of identities who have helped empower others to make a positive change in the world. From poets to elected officials, students to historians, LGBTQ+ Wisconsinites have fought for equity and inclusion and their stories are on display in “We Will Always Be Here.”
